David Smyth Dental . Our Practice was founded in 1947 by the late Mr. Paddy McErlean, who built and extended the then-Loy Street practice. Mr. David Smyth, the current owner, graduated from Queen’s University Belfast in 1984 and then joined the team. In 1989, when Mr. McErlean resigned, he succeeded him as Practice Principal. Mr. Smyth has been designated as a Vocational Trainer, and the practice provides vocational training. No Vocational Dental Trainees are currently employed at our office. Moving to our new site on Fairhill Road in 1997 provides handicapped patients with easy access to all ground-floor services. Improved parking and accessibility have also been clear advantages for all patient groups. In 2010, we formed the Practice as a limited liability company to better serve our devoted patients.
